Criminal Defense Attorney's

Job Responsibilities:

Fitzgerald, Alvarez & Ciummo is looking for full-time attorneys to join our fast-paced, high energy, growing firm. Our office has been providing indigent legal defense services since 1988. Our mission is to ensure that our clients receive high quality legal representation and that their constitutional rights are safeguarded throughout their legal proceedings. We currently provide such legal services in five counties in California. As a firm, we provide representation in adult criminal matters (felonies and misdemeanors), and juvenile matters, (both delinquency and dependency). 


Attorneys will handle criminal matters. Our firm is a MCLE-approved provider and will provide the training, mentoring and experience necessary to help new attorneys grow into experienced trial attorneys. Our firm strives to form a positive and professional training/work environment where employees can realize their potential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent parents in both contested (bench trials) and uncontested detention, jurisdiction, disposition, review and termination of parental rights hearings;
  • Interview and advise clients of the dependency process and their legal rights prior to each hearing;
  • Perform legal research; and
  • Prepare writ petitions for review by appellate courts when necessary.

  • Ability to handle work of a confidential and sensitive nature
